Cross-cultural perspectives on dyslexia and learning differences
This research examines dyslexia in Arabic-speaking contexts, particularly in Morocco, where it is often underrecognized. It aims to improve culturally grounded identification, intervention, and inclusive learning practices to better support students with reading difficulties.

Collaborative learning in early childhood
This research project investigates how young children including those diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) learn to collaborate, communicate, and engage socially in both digital and real-world educational environments

AI for inclusive education and neurodiversity
Building upon earlier projects on students with learning disabilities, this axis investigates how AI and machine learning can detect, analyze, and support neurodiverse learners. The research integrates insights from educational psychology, cognitive science, and computer vision to design adaptive systems that promote engagement and inclusion among students with conditions such as dyslexia, ADHD, and autism.

Academic Excellence in Southern Morocco: Educational challenges within ecological systems
Project conducted in collaboration with the Phosboucraa Foundation, and the School of Collective Intelligence (SCI) - UM6P, it explores the educational experiences of students, parents, and teachers in Southern Morocco. Drawing on Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Theory and stakeholder theory, the project adopts a mixed-methods sequential exploratory design to explore how individual, family, school, and policy-level factors interact to shape student learning experiences and outcomes. Using qualitative and quantitative data from over 200 participants, representing diverse urban public high schools in Laayoune and nearby regions.

Personality and learning differences
This research axis investigates how individual differences—including personality traits, identity development, and emotional-cognitive processes—shape learning experiences, motivation, collaboration, and educational outcomes. It aims to deepen understanding of the psychological and social mechanisms that drive how learners engage with and respond to different learning environments, both in traditional and digital settings. This work adopts a multi-method approach integrating experimental studies, classroom interventions, and systematic reviews. Together, the projects under this axis explore how learners’ personalities and self-concepts influence collaboration, engagement, and adaptability, and how emerging technologies such as conversational AI can be designed to support these diverse learner profiles.
